Underpinning our next door neighbours garage.

A late building variation thrown at us, was the mammoth cost of underpinning our neighbour's garage with concrete. So that the garage wall, which is on our boundary, didn't collapse and fall down, Porter Davis told us that they were going to pour $........ worth of concrete under the garage and build a retaining wall the length of the garage and some more.  This was done very slowly because of our lovely wet weather, but it was finished in time for the slab pour.

The Great Wall of Ashburton

After Porter Davis cut the block, we discovered this rear wall of dirt. To our horror, we thought, what are we going to do with this wall. We gave it some thought and got a Landscaper to give us an idea of how we could get up to the only grassed area of our land and of course our well stocked shed. The plan is to terrace the wall and incorporate some stairs into the wall. This project will have to wait until the end of Porter Davis being on the site.

Cutting the block by Porter Davis

Once the land had been cleared of all the rubble, a digger was delivered to our block for the Cut. The digger was delivered to our block on a Saturday, and bright and early Monday morning the digger cut our block to the specifications from Porter Davis.

Our house is finally raised to the ground!!

Here are some photos of our old house in its various stages of being attacked by 'Online Demolition'. The demolition took over ten days to complete, it was a painful process, watching the various stages of demolition. The house looked so sad, towards the end of its life.
